Stella Rose

So we finally decided on a name!!! Hurray for us! I know everyone has been waiting and asking and asking and asking! Thank you for all the suggestions, it really helped me process through some winners and some losers. After talking to Aaron and getting the approval of several friends last night we have decided on the name Stella Rose. Can I just say I feel so liberated knowing what I am going to name her!!

An update on the progress of the little human life I am growing....she supposedly weights 2 3/4 pounds, but she is probably a little less than that because she was so small during my ultrasounds. She is 15 inches long from head to toe. She has been moving around so much at night! If I wake up at any point during the night, I can feel her moving. I remember Chloe doing that too. Her movements are getting a little more rough! Its not the little fluttering anymore, it is full on kicking and pushing and rolling! I love it. Chloe felt her move for the first time on Tuesday afternoon. Chloe was laying on my lap and had her little arm around my belly, and Stella started kicking right under her hand. Chloe looked up with huge eyes and asked what that was! It was such a sweet moment. Payton was glad that she finally felt her, because he had been trying to get his 2 sisters to cooperate for weeks now!

I am so excited for this little baby to come out. I officially have 10 weeks and 5 days until my due date. I'm predicting 9 weeks and 6 days, but we will see soon enough. Please feel free to guess the weight. I think Mimi was really close to Chloe's. I'm thinking little Stella Rose will be 6 pounds 8 ounces. Payton was 6 pounds 12 ounces and Chloe was 6 pounds 5 ounces. I will buy the winner a Starbucks, unless I am the winner and then I will just have to treat myself!!

Our Little Left Handed Baseball Player

As many of you know Payton started T-ball this year. The last game is tonight, and I am very sad. It has been so much fun to watch him play. He loves it so much, which brings smiles to our faces! For those of you that know us, you know how long we have waited for this day. Aaron was a pitcher in high school, his team got 3rd in state Aaron's Junior & Senior year. They were heartbreaking losses....tear. Luckily for Aaron, I was there to console him his senior year after their loss :)! It was truly sad to watch him and his closest friends lose a game they should have won. They didn't come out of their dugout for almost an hour after the game. The friendships he had with those boys still goes strong. They get together for poker nights and still play softball and used to play Portland City league baseball until a couple years ago. They relived their glory days when they won the Portland City league 9 days after Payton was born....I have to say here that they beat a team with former SF Giants on it. I am a proud bragging wife I know!!

Now, when I say Aaron was a pitcher, I have to specify that he is a left handed pitcher....that is a big difference. They are more valuable, so I have a more valuable husband, just in case I want to sell him one day. Anyways, when I found out I was pregnant with Payton my dear husband who had just received Jesus said his first prayer. It went something like this, 'Dear Jesus, Please let us have a boy and let him be left handed'. This prayer continued all through out my pregnancy. After he came out everything he reached for was scrutinized. Aaron would say, 'Did you see that!!! He reach for me with his left hand!!'. Even though he was 2 weeks old and happened to flail his left hand. When Payton began eating he truly favored his left hand. I read that they are still ambidextrous at this young age, so I cautioned Aaron not to get too excited, even though I was certain we were staring at a future hall of famer stuffing green beans in his mouth. We sound like lunatics, I know. I have to say, people would tell us, 'You know he's going to hate Baseball'. What is that?! To all of you that said that, I say Ha Ha! He falls asleep watching major league games and wakes up at 6:30am on the days of his game. He loves it just as much as Aaron.

Payton has been hitting a ball that we pitch to him since we was 2. My dad once grabbed a hard ball and just tossed it to Payton in the backyard, not thinking Payton had a chance at hitting it. Payton hit the ball and nearly knocked my dad out. My dad has not pitched to him since!

Payton's first practice was very rainy, but all the kids wanted to keep playing. So they did a little hitting under the covered playground. I will admit that we were slightly disappointed that there was a kid better than Payton on the team. His name was Jack, and if he wasn't so cute I might want to trip him. Granted he is a first grader, so we let it pass!

This is Payton about to hit the ball. I have to give you a visual here. He waits for his pitch, hits it and proceeds to run to 1st base with a gigantic smile on his face. When he gets there he puts his hands on his hips and looks for me to tell him good hit. He will then find the nearest grown up and tell them how great of a hit that was, and then continue to smile and converse with the stranger until its time to run to the next base....smiling the whole way. Now, running down the 3rd base line he will look for Chloe and wave to her. One game she walked up to him on 3rd base and kissed him. I know!! Could they be any cuter?!
Ok, I am going to continue to brag, because I can....I mean really what are these blogs for anyways! Payton plays pitcher and 1st base, because being a lefty thats probably what he will play when he gets older. Here he is fielding a ball at pitcher.....

Here he threw it in for the out. The last 4 games he has gotten at least 2 people out a game. Is that bad of me to be excited that he got a poor T-ball player out?? He will pick up the ball at pitcher and tag the runner going into home. Who does that in T-ball?!?! The parents at the last game kept coming up to us and saying, how does he know where to go with it? I just say its divine intervention.

This is the last game he played. He had just hit the ball.

Aaron is usually 1st base coach. This is the two of them discussing the game. Look how intently Payton listens.....he never listens like this unless he is on the baseball field!!!

He got to play catcher last game too. He was so excited. Now, most kids stand behind the plate, but Payton crouched down. Aaron asked his coach if he told him to do that. He coach said no, he thought Aaron told him to. Payton said he just saw the guys on the TV do that, so he did to. He is just so stinkin' cute!

They got their trophies after the game. Payton went up to his coach and asked him,' So Coach, when do we get paid for this.'!! Maybe someday Payton, and don't forget you're Mama when you're making millions! Ha ha!

Oh yeah, we have a blog.

Am I supposed to write one of these things like once a week or something? I have a Myspace, Facebook and now one of these. Its all so overwhelming! Anyone at any moment could look me up and know everything about me. Its scary and cool all at the same time. I'm down with it though, as long as I look cool.

Ok, so since April 1st nothing too major has happened. I went with a group of friends up to Camp Crestview (Yes I said Camp Crestview) for Evergreen's Women's Retreat. It was very emotional. I could blame it on pregnancy horomones, but I know it was the Lord doing amazing things in my life, as well as the lives of my friends. Check-in was at 4pm on Friday, but we couldn't start a girls weekend that late now could we!?! So we left more like 10am and headed into Portland. Emily Hughes had a hair appointment, so she had her little groupies watching her. After that was done we headed to NW 23rd, for some shopping. We decided to eat lunch at Papa Hyden's.

This is us outside of Papa Hyden's. Preggo Me, Mimi, D-ho and Alisa. She will have a nickname soon! (Dara) Probably something to do with a Disney Princess, since she talks like one.

This is D-Ho and Me in Papa Hyden's. Notice the very grown up Shirley Temple I am drinking. I am a very sophisticated women.

This is us on our hellish walk my friends made me go on! It was all down hill at first, then on the way back it was like a 14% uphill grade! I was pretty sure they were going to deliver my baby on that trail. The view was pretty though.

Now, if you will devert your attention to the subject on the left, you will notice Emily is slipping. Despite all the arm flailing, she still fell. Poor Mimi....what am I saying. It was hilarious. Too bad we can't get a close up on her face, its classic. Whats that....we can get a close up?! Fantastic!!

And there it is Ladies and Gentlemen! Classic!

All joking aside, I had a great time up there. It is a truly anointed place. I had fun getting to know my friends better and of course watching the token crazy church ladies in full effect. I made Mimi promise me that I will not be one of those ladies when I pass the age of 40.

First Post

Our first blog! Hurray! We've done this once before, however we messed it up somehow. Leave it to us! A little about the Johns' family....

Aaron & Emily were high school sweethearts. We started dating when Emily was a sophomore and Aaron was a senior. We dated for 4 years before we got married. Since we dated so long, we wanted to have kids right away. We got pregnant 4 months after our wedding. 9 months later we were blessed with a busy baby boy, Payton Michael Johns! He is full of energy and very sharp. He doesn't let anything get past him! He just started playing T-ball last week. He loves his practices! His first game is going to be this Saturday. He is counting down the days.

When Payton was almost 2, we decided we wanted another baby. So we got preggers again with our little Chloe Ava Johns. She has always been quiet and shy....totally opposite of her brother. She is much more like Aaron. She has been enrolled in hip hop classes and she starts ballet tomorrow. We had to get her the smallest ballet slippers the store had, and they are still too big for her!

As most of you know, we are expecting our 3rd and probably last child. We are due on August 16th. Its a girl! We are very excited about having 2 girls. We hope they are really close. Chloe is so maternal, we think she is going to be a great sister. Payton is already very protective of Chloe, we know he is going to be a great big brother.
